The Chairman of the Chamber of Mines of Mozambique gave the key note speech at the Mining & Minerals session at the Mozambique Energy and Industry Summit (MEIS) in Cabo Delgado this week.
In his speech, Geert Klok spoke about the development trajectory of the mining industry in Cabo Delgado over the past 20 years.
He also discussed the role of the Chamber of Mines of Mozambique and how it has grown to represent over 88% of the formal mining industry in Mozambique.
Klok talked about the importance of the artisanal mining sector in Cabo Delgado. He finished his speech with an appeal to strengthen the mining cadaster in order to reduce the processing time of mining license applications.
