On the 1st and 2nd of November, the Chamber of Mines of Mozambique and IGREME conducted a 2-day workshop at the VIP Executive Hotel in Tete.
The aim of the workshop was to teach about Good mining practices, safe processing, mine safety and rescue.
In addition to this, the mining cooperative representatives from Manica and Tete were taught about the risks and dangers involved in artisanal small scale mining and the methods for mitigation of risks and dangers.
Moreover, the miners were also given demonstration and were involved in role-plays with advanced equipment used in mine rescue
The participants were also given the opportunity to interact and shared experiences with the Inspector General of IGREME, Obete Matine and CMM’s Executive Director, Eugénio Silva.
